When I decided to launch BioShield Pest Management, I had one simple goal in mind: to provide Penn Yan and the surrounding Finger Lakes communities with honest, careful, and effective pest management.
This industry is full of massive corporations that send a different technician to your door every single time. As a local resident and a father, I wanted to build a company that treats your home with the exact same care and premium products that I use to protect my own family.
When you hire BioShield, you don't get a random employee. You get the owner, fully insured and fully committed to defending your property.
Thank you for trusting a local business.
Straight answers for Yates County homeowners.
No pesticide treatment should be described as completely risk-free. I use inspection and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) to limit applications to appropriate areas and follow the product label. Before treatment, I explain any preparation, re-entry, and child or pet precautions that apply to the specific product and site.
Carpenter bees excavate galleries in bare or weathered wood and can damage siding, fascia, and trim over time. After targeted treatment, activity often declines, but timing varies with nest location, weather, wood condition, and whether untreated galleries remain. I inspect the affected wood, treat active galleries according to the label, and recommend sealing or repair after activity has been addressed.
When you hire a massive corporate pest control brand, you get a different, rushed technician every time. With BioShield, you get the owner of the company on your property every single visit. I am fully insured, I live in Penn Yan, and my reputation is tied to protecting your house.
Pricing depends entirely on the linear footage of your home and the severity of the infestation. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all bloated contracts. I provide free, exact quotes based on your property so you only pay for the heavy-duty defense you actually need.
Mice can enter through gaps about 1/4 inch wide, so control starts with inspection. I identify likely entry points, food and nesting conditions, and signs of activity, then recommend trapping or other control measures and durable exclusion where appropriate. Follow-up may be needed because buildings and pest pressure change over time.
Exterior de-webbing and targeted treatment can reduce active spiders and the insects they feed on around eaves, foundations, porches, and other harborage areas. Results and residual duration vary with weather, surfaces, lighting, vegetation, and pest pressure, so new webs can still appear and periodic service may be appropriate.
Spraying only the ants you see may miss the nest and can disrupt trails that help identify the source. I first identify the ant and likely nest location, then select a treatment such as bait or a non-repellent product when appropriate. Colony reduction can take time, and follow-up may be needed depending on the species, nest location, and conditions around the home.
